Rach and Rich

We’re not long home from one of the most incredible weddings Clare and I have ever been to, the Wedding of our good friends Rach and Rich who got married this weekend in Henley On Thames. The couple were wed in a small church in the village of Remenham before a short boat journey took us all to the reception, held on the beautiful Temple Island on the Thames.

With our September ‘Indian-Summer’ in full swing, the setting could not have been more spectacular … Continue readingRach and Rich

Chris and Michelle

On the 11th August, our friends Chris and Michelle got hitched on what turned out to be a gorgeous summers day! They had a big wedding in St Leonard’s Church in Eynsham, where some of our friends surprised Michelle with a parade of John Lennon’s “All You Need Is Love” as they left the church.

We all headed off to the reception at Heythrop Park and enjoyed a great wedding breakfast… … Continue readingChris and Michelle

Meganissi

Clare and I recently spent a week in Meganissi, Greece with my family. It’s a beautiful part of the world, unspoilt by tourism at the moment and home to only 3 small towns on the island, each offering a few taverns on the shore line for lunch and dinner. It was bliss!

We had a villa with a pool on one of the hill tops overlooking the bay of Spartochori… … Continue readingMeganissi

Cornwall

Clare and I took a few days out this spring and drove down to Marazion, near Penzance in Cornwall where we stayed in the Mount Haven Hotel overlooking St Michaels Mount, which offered fantastic views! We stopped off at the Eden Project on the way down which is pretty cool, lots of things to see in the bio-domes… … Continue readingCornwall

New Year in Wales

So here we are, 2012 – another year on. And what a year! Clare and I bought our first house together, attended nine weddings, got married (!) and enjoyed the Christmas holiday with close friends and family before driving down to Wales to see in the New Year with friends.

Around fifteen of us stayed in a lovely cottage near Chepstow, not far over the Severn Bridge into Wales. The cottage offered great views over a valley with a small river running through. After enjoying some great food Ed and Tony cooked up for us on the Friday night, and a game of Articulate, we set off Saturday lunchtime for a brisk walk to the pub… … Continue readingNew Year in Wales

Oxops Presents “Stages”

At the beginning of December, some friends of ours from the Oxford Operatic Society put on a concert, ‘Stages’, to raise funds for the Feldon Stroke Ward at the Royal Lemington Spa Rehabilitation Hospital. They sang many numbers, including songs from musicals such as Mary Poppins, The Lion King and Grease, raising over £3500!

The aim of the concert was to raise money for essential speech and language therapy equipment for the ward – and I’m sure this impressive total will help a great deal… … Continue readingOxops Presents “Stages”

Honeymoon

It’s been a couple of months since my last post here, for good reason! Last month I married my wonderful fiancée, Clare – who I am now delighted to call my wife!

We had an amazing wedding, shared with friends and family on a beautiful sunny October afternoon. Everything we had planned turned out perfectly, though sadly it all went by in a flash. Before we knew it, we were jetting off on honeymoon with champagne in hand… … Continue readingHoneymoon

Susie and Rob

Here’s a good one! The wedding of Susie and Rob, which took place on a gorgeous August afternoon in full sun. A photographers dream! Clare was one of the bridesmaids, so having left work early, I got to the venue just in time to see her and the other bridesmaids walk down the aisle, followed by Susie and her brother, who gave her away.

It wasn’t long into the ceremony that we had to stop for a flypast that Rob had planned (or so he told us!) and soon enough, the couple were wed… … Continue readingSusie and Rob
