Yearly Archives: 2014

On the first week of September, Clare and I drove down to Carbis Bay near St Ives for our own little babymoon – our last holiday before our little one joins us next month. We had booked 5 nights in the Boskerris Hotel (our second stay together at this hotel, we love it!) and planned a couple of days out walking and lying around on the beach…

This July, Clare and I set off for Portugal with my parents to spend five nights out there with Jill and Dave – followed by another week out there with the Weavings and Hannah! It was my parents first visit to the villa, so we were all excited to show them around. We arrived just after sun down, with lights of Portimao and Lagos twinkling in the distance and the warm smell of eucalyptus in the air.

The first couple of days were spent around the pool – a perfect opportunity for us to test out Dave’s new Spa Bar…

This weekend Clare and I were invited to The Seven Stars on the green at Marsh Baldon to celebrate Suze and Rob’s little girl Jasmine. It was a lovely afternoon, despite the imminent arrival of hurricane Bertha – we were in full sun! The occasion was held in a lovely converted barn just off the pub, with drinks and a buffet for all the guests…

I remember the city being very quiet – people still out of town spending the holiday with friends and family….

It’s become a bit of a family tradition for my parents to host a summer barbecue – this year with a hog roast! For a change, the weather was fantastic – and encouraged the kids to run around and play all day…

This week Oxford Operatic Society are presenting Grease at the New Theatre. The show is being directed by a good friend of ours, Dave Crewe and he’s done a fantastic job! The choreography, created by Sally Chase and Jo Wilkinson is superb – there’s so much happening on stage, I was struggling to take photos of it all! The music, as always, it’s what makes these shows for me – led my Musical Director Chris Payne, features all of the classics we’ve come to love over the years…

Today we went with Polly to her friend Alfie’s 4th birthday party, where the theme was super hero’s! Polly decided to go dressed as Batman, with her own boots and cape to match!

After bouncing around on the bouncy-castle, they all played pass-the-parcel before tucking into some birthday cake!

Happy Birthday Alfie – here are some photos!
