Finally, we had a white Christmas this year! It wasn’t quite how the films depict; transport grinded to a halt, supermarkets ran out of brussle sprouts and the mail is still delivering Christmas cards to us! Though all of this was soon forgotten come Christmas day – we stayed up at Clare’s parents on Christmas […]

On the evening of Saturday 18th December, Clare and I braved the snow and ventured out to the evening reception of Andy and Ali’s wedding – with boots, snow shovel and sleeping bags packed in the car, just in case!
We were fortunate enough to only live a couple of miles away from the venue. Other guests who were further away suffered long delays, as most of the surrounding roads were impassable or blocked. Some had no option but to turn back, and whilst I’m sure they were sorely missed that day by Andy and Ali, they had a beautiful wedding in the snow…
Every year in mid-December my parents hold a Christmas party for all their friends. This year, they very kindly hosted an Engagement Party for Clare and I – with our family and close friends. We had heart shaped balloons, banners, lovely black and white photographs of us both in silver frames dotted around the house – as well as a large framed collage of photos of our time together.

I’m pretty sure the last weekend in October is the best weekend in the year to get married on – not only because Clare and I have our wedding planned for this weekend next year, but also because of the amazing photo opportunities an Autumn Wedding offers! James and Kaff found a gorgeous venue here […]
Towards the end of September, my fiancée and I embarked on a trip around France, stopping in Epernay, Beaune, Morzine, Monaco, Nice and Chenonceaux. We had fantastic weather for the majority of our time away! We took the opportunity to sample a number of champagnes in Epernay and then continued south to spend a long weekend in the Alps, where we relaxed in a cosey log cabin, with our books and some fantastic views over the valleys. We then set off for the south coast, to spend a few days on the beaches of Monaco and Nice for Clare’s birthday…
