A Sunny Sunday

I’m pretty sure that this time last year everyone still had their central heating turned up, and we were all riding out another wet April here in the UK. This year, things changed – and with a week of hot weather forecast, it felt like everyone headed out to make the most of a weekend in the sun!

Clare and I sorted out our bikes and went on an afternoon’s bike ride down to the river Thames with a picnic. We found a great spot for lunch, with geese and white swans taking off and landing right in-front of us. Sadly, it was one of those days that I’d left my camera at home – and I kept kicking myself every time one of these things swooped over our heads!

On the Sunday, we met up with my family in Hampshire for a barbeque in the afternoon. It was even hotter than the day before, and this time – I had my camera! We enjoyed some great food, whilst making the most of the sun. William, the surviving cat of the two we had, was making the most of the warm weather with us. My parents even let their chickens out of their coop to enjoy some fresh grass, though one of them decided it was too hot and took a dip in the pond. Thankfully her cries for help could be heard from the house!

Here are a selection of photos from the afternoon. Family members can download them here.
