Abingdon Airshow

This weekend Clare and I attended the annual Abingdon Airshow. The good weather encouraged a lot of people to attend, with plenty of snack-bars and stalls to keep people entertained. The airshow kicked off in the afternoon, consisting of mainly single-piston aerobatic displays, with a couple of fast jets.

At the end of the afternoon, the show was closed by the Avro Vulcan XH558, its first public display of the year and sadly, one of its last – as the funds raised to support the aircraft have not been sufficient to keep it flying. Never the less, the crew certainly put on a good display. The Vulcan Howl was a highlight for me, triggered by the engine air inlets resonating from engine vibrations.
