Each year Clare and I drive down to Devon and Cornwall for a few days by the sea. It’s something we both did a lot with our families as kids and something I hope we’ll keep doing over the years. This year we stayed in Carbis Bay, just around the corner from St. Ives – and just up from a little train station on the St. Ives Bay Line that runs between St. Ives and St. Erth. There is also a coastal path that we walked to St. Ives on the Saturday morning, with great views out to sea. The weather was particularly stormy on the Friday when we arrived, but it soon cleared to give us a very sunny weekend…

This post is long overdue, but there are some cracking photos from our holiday to Spain with Ed, Cat, Tony and Amy. We flew out to Almeria, Spain – and then drove north about an hour to a golf resort in Desert Springs. Apparently, this place gets sun all year round and didn’t disappoint…

Clare and I recently spent a week in Meganissi, Greece with my family. It’s a beautiful part of the world, unspoilt by tourism at the moment and home to only 3 small towns on the island, each offering a few taverns on the shore line for lunch and dinner. It was bliss!

We had a villa with a pool on one of the hill tops overlooking the bay of Spartochori…

Clare and I took a few days out this spring and drove down to Marazion, near Penzance in Cornwall where we stayed in the Mount Haven Hotel overlooking St Michaels Mount, which offered fantastic views! We stopped off at the Eden Project on the way down which is pretty cool, lots of things to see in the bio-domes…

So here we are, 2012 – another year on. And what a year! Clare and I bought our first house together, attended nine weddings, got married (!) and enjoyed the Christmas holiday with close friends and family before driving down to Wales to see in the New Year with friends.

Around fifteen of us stayed in a lovely cottage near Chepstow, not far over the Severn Bridge into Wales. The cottage offered great views over a valley with a small river running through. After enjoying some great food Ed and Tony cooked up for us on the Friday night, and a game of Articulate, we set off Saturday lunchtime for a brisk walk to the pub…

It’s been a couple of months since my last post here, for good reason! Last month I married my wonderful fiancée, Clare – who I am now delighted to call my wife!

We had an amazing wedding, shared with friends and family on a beautiful sunny October afternoon. Everything we had planned turned out perfectly, though sadly it all went by in a flash. Before we knew it, we were jetting off on honeymoon with champagne in hand…

During half term, Clare’s family and I all headed down to Portugal to stay for a few days in her parent’s villa, where we caught the last rays of the summer sun! Situated high up in the mountains, we had spectacular views out to the ocean whilst relaxing by the pool…

Towards the end of September, my fiancée and I embarked on a trip around France, stopping in Epernay, Beaune, Morzine, Monaco, Nice and Chenonceaux. We had fantastic weather for the majority of our time away! We took the opportunity to sample a number of champagnes in Epernay and then continued south to spend a long weekend in the Alps, where we relaxed in a cosey log cabin, with our books and some fantastic views over the valleys. We then set off for the south coast, to spend a few days on the beaches of Monaco and Nice for Clare’s birthday…
